Sheriff Whitman is the most begrudging Sheriff you’ll ever meet, so when a kid rides into town with the meanest man in Katawa County on his heels and out for blood, Whitman has to make some decisions fast to keep the little town of Clearcliff from becoming an above ground cemetery.

Louis L’Amour is my favorite western author, and every time I read one of his books, I just get absorbed into it. I have written a few stories that are somewhat western, but they all tend to have a bit of a fantasy or steampunk spin to them. This story right here was my first attempt at writing a pure and simple western short story. I hope I’ve done old Louis proud.
